Disable Mobile Version

Is there a way to disable the mobile version so that the website can be seen in desktop version even when someone is using mobile?

Umm. As far as i know unless you purchased a special mod there is no mobile version of the site. So the desktop version is what they would see in the mobile web browser.

So your going to have to explain why your under the impression that it's not. Perhaps your referring to the mobile app which you should not be using or distributing if you don't want people using it.

If the mobile app is not used and they use the built in browser, then the full site is what they will get.

I figured it was the "mobile version" because when I go to the website in my mobile browser it looks completely different. There is a drop down menu for the navigation menu. You can't scroll to the side only up and down.

Thats because you have a responsive template installed. You will need to change the template to remove the 'mobile' version.

I am just guessing by the description he gave since I have used responsive templates myself :)

Doesn't a Responsive Template ensure that the website adjusts according to the device that it is being viewed on? Why is my responsive template misbehaving in this case? Do I need to install a template that is not responsive?

It's what is suppose to do.

That is not what your original question was. You wanted to disable it. In other words show the desktop version on the mobile device.

Well a responsive template does what you says it does. Adjusts itself to fit the device. So yes, it will look different than viewing on a desktop computer because the screen is smaller.

So misbehaving, no. It's doing whats it's designed to do. Shift and adjust everything so it fits the screen. That also means it changes the menu as well. A responsive template will not look the same on a small screen as it does on a large one. It's doing what it is suppose to do.

So now i am confused. You want it to look like the desktop, but you put in a responsive template so it will adjust to the device and then ask for help because it looks different on that smaller screen.

While viewing on a desktop, use your mouse to make your browser window smaller and smaller and watch. You will see the template change as you make the window smaller. That's what a responsive template does, and why it looks completely different on your mobile device.

I did. I really tried editing some of the items in the template because the search box is covering the logo. And  some of the words are outside of the margin instead of centered so I edited the 'general.css' in the logo section and moved the logo higher. But instead of just moving the logo, it moved the logo and the search box closer to the top of the page.

Thats most likely not what you want to do anyway.

I think i remember another topic where i told you to contact the developer of the template for help.

How a responsive template works is the repositioning is done via JavaScript as the screen size changes. So changing the CSS may work, but it will alter it for the larger view as well.

What needs to be changed is the JavaScript code that calculates where those items are to be when the screen is a certain size.

A responsive template is much much more complex than a normal template. CSS adjustments in most cases are not going to be enough. Which is why i suggested and still do suggest you contact the templates developer.
