Default positions for World Map?

My world map is not working on my main site!  I can't set the map(s) to satellite.  There are 2 tables for this feature?  World Map locations and pieces but neither on handles the default setting for the world map and the individual maps for maps.  I see the admin section but once again when I make the changes to the admin section it does not stick for some reason.  I am looking for the table/page that stores the default map settings.  I would have thought it would be in the map locations and perhaps it is but they just are not getting carried across to the table from the admin section.

Perhaps someone could post one of the right settings that are suppose to be in that table?

I checked my other site and there are no default settings in that table either.  Hmmm

You can set those in the admin section. Set your map the way you want it and then click save location. That should do the trick (there are four maps by default, groups and profiles included)

Yes I have been there and back that is what I mean by it is not working for me as the maps won't change...

I just tested this on my 714 installation and it works fine.

What I did:

1) Enable "Map type Controlls"

2) On the map select (for example) satellite

3) Click "Save location"

4) The map should now show the satellite image instead of the normal map

Let me restate 1 more time mine is not working 1 have 2 sites and the other one does perfect this other IS NOT working!  This is why I am asking for the table that holds the defaults so I can manually do it!! 

I again try to edit them in the admin section but it does not work...

Have a look at the sys_options table and look for the name bx_wmap_homepage_map_type

 I will look there...It appears that my global thoughts about the way the wold map works is incorrect and there are individual maps for each module once I figured that out my maps are working I feel pretty stupid at this moment...and thanks for the help...
