Deactivate video chat... but keep live chat...

Is there a way of keeping the live chat room available to our members, but deactivate the possibility to engage in video chat? We haven't got the latter setup and users SEE the option and are frustrated that it's not usable. I've deleted the button in the actions panel from the database, but for some users (most) it still shows (did this ages ago and cleared the cache). It's strange. Any ideas?

In past tests I seem to recall the video options only show up if you enable RAY.

It also rears its ugly head as the link for engaging other members in an instant messenger session. I don't know why they are pushing media server features if the script has these options disabled.

Exactly, and that's the bit I have a problem with. Annoying. What I've done is changed the three language keys that refer to 'Video Chat' and changed them to 'Chat'... so at least the user doesn't think there's a malfunctioning feature.

If you are not going to use the video options. why use the 'instant messenger'  wouldn't 'simple chat' be better for that?

On some sites, I have the member menu disabled, which makes using the simple messenger out of the question. Some users also like the more advanced features of the larger messenger (myself included).
