Conflict ERROR quite BIG INDEED!

As I am making quite a few changes to my sites custom work indeed.  I think it is in everyone's best interest if I can shed light onto a conflict that puts my site into a very bad situation at best.  I am not finding fault with either of these developers at all because if anything it seems astonishing to me that this does not happen more often.

The wanted option was to send properties by link to a customer via the system and when they clicked on the link back to the site it would auto login the customer into their profile and then the other programming would take over.

Well the end result is close to that wanted action but is in reverse of the desired action.  What I mean is if I send out a property link to a sub-profile member it brings them back and logs them in as me the ADMIN!!

If the sub-profile member sends me a property link like I really like these can you tell me more the link takes me back and logs me in as the sub-profile member!

The first is obviously the worst of the two but with permission based viewing it opens the doors to issues with both problems... ANY ideas from anyone would be very helpful!  AND yes of course I have informed both developers with this issue.

would you be willing to post some code on what you have done so far. it is a little hard to help out not being able to see what you have.Wink

Yes of course the only problem is I would not know what code to post as there are so many options of the code from where an occurrence takes place...

I.E the mailing code? The Profile Code? I would think it would not really matter except for one part of the let's call it an occurrence.  The fact that the auto login is global in use or that it adds the login code to each letter going out and or notification this issue appears to me to be with identifying the actual sender of the message.  The sub-profile uses a parent field and I am just spit balling here but that probably is indeed the issue for the scripting because he had no idea that field would have existed for his programming.  If you can tell me where that code might be does that logic make any sense to me?

i would start with the email code - if clicking the link in the email is logging in as the sub-profile creator, it may be a variable with that. Also, did you try using a different computer than the one you usually use (cookis and sessions may be creating your problem). I am just guessing in an effort to spark the real answer.

Such a great Idea I took my IPAD and cleared everything then logged in both ways and sent messages and it works perfectly thanks you so much for that idea...

Damn I can't believe that that can cause reverse login...

Again thanks so much as that makes me very happy to have that feature...

glad to hear that you got things working. LOL, my client does it all the time. He will click a link in his email and not realize he is already signed into his account with the same browser that is set as default for opening web pages from email links. I have setup several firefox profiles. This way it helps to resolve this issue.
