Clubs Module

I want to leave Groups intact and create another module called Clubs. I copied Groups Module and renamed everything.

You missed a semi-colon :

Find this line :

Replace with :

Damn great idea. I run a dog site...and for members to have thier clubs listed and members joining will be a great asset to my site.

So if I do the same, copy the groups module over and rename all references to groups to clubs and then install the database entries below, should it also work for my site?

There's a problem with my Market, after clicking edit post... this is what I get.

LOL. You too. I have the same problem with my Deanos Tools Module. Until it is fixed i can't release a update.

I messaged my agent here twice in the last 2 weeks about it, and even sent email. No responce and no fix. So good luck getting it fixed.

I may end up having to turn off the download on it, and open a new market post if this goes on for to long.

@deano - Does that mean we should uninstall your tools module in Admin for the time being?  Is the error occurring all releases or just the latest?  Would uninstalling it affect anything we changed or created with it?  Thanks.

No. You misunderstood. The error is here with the market when trying to edit the market post to provide an updated version.

So there is nothing wrong. We are referring to an error here at boonex with the market.

Audanbal, I get 'Page was not found' in Clubs 'Main' together with some other pages, am I missing something?

Have tried 7.0.0 and failed, I seen different scripts and I'm not going to bother with this version. Because obviously it was messy and fixed in 7.0.1.

If you refused to update to 7.0.1, then you're out of luck. I will try to maintain in later versions... 7.02, 7.1, etc.

I checked your site and I saw that. I don't know how or why. It is very odd, because I have tested on mine and ran just fine. There is no need for language key at all. I have suggested you in the mail to uninstall, delete clubs folder, clean db and clean all. Re-download and pray it'll work this time. Keep me post.

My site deals with Nightclubs and I think this would work perfect for it instead of what I was considering which was to just ad clubs as profiles, but this would allow me to feature certain clubs, etc. I assume it allows me to show recently added clubs, featured clubs, etc on the home page?

I also read you said it does not work for 7.0. I have not applied the 7.01 patch because of all the complaints out there and currently my 7.0 is running fine so I do not want to screw that up. any ideas why it will not work for 7.0?

I have to give you a big gold star for sharing this mod with us instead of running to the market to make money off of it. It's this kind of attitude this community needs more of. Big thanks to all those others out there who have shared info or mods as well. You guys are the best!

I would also like to create the same thing for Hotels and Restaurants. Would this be difficult?

Ideally I would like them to be called:

• Bars
• Hotels
• Restaurants

 It's as simple as just renaming all instances of "clubs" to the name I want it to be?

Yup, you assumed right. Same features as Groups even Homepage.

Groups Module 1.0.0 (Dolphin 7.0.0): Tried, tested and failed. The original 1.0.0 is a mess. Although Groups works fine however it is not multiple-module-friendly. Hence, improvement in 1.0.1. If you try changing 1.0.1 to 1.0.0 and 7.0.1 to 7.0.0, chances are it will not work because the scripts are different.

My testing site works fine. My default site has the same problem. WTF!?!?

I assume the initial SQL Install Query needs to be modified to add additional tables, that is why it is weird that your test site works.

On a side note... Is there a way to create events for Groups? (Clubs) I would think that Groups or Clubs, or Bars or whatever you choose to call it should be able to post events. I do not see that functionality... Am I missing something?

I was looking at Calendar in Clubs and I was like... hmm, there's no way we could add events but my imaginary! It would be awesome to have that included.
