Changing fields and names

Can someone explain to me in detail, how you change, create and modify fields. I mean like the labels. I wanna add some new field inputs within some of the join block and profile edit block. For instance in Join I wanna add the weight, add; here for to, men, woman, friends, networking, dating business. How do I add ones like this to a field and make them appear where it needs to.

I have attempted to try, but when I do it, I get it appearing in both the sex field and here for field, for some reason.

to begin with - to add fields to the join, profile edit, ,or profile view sections. Go into Admin - Builders -> Profile Fields. This is where you can add and rearrange fields. Have you at least gotten this far?

Yes I have reached that far. Like I said I have attempted to do this situation myself. But I need to know how you add fields that don't exist and such, or rename ones that dolphin has already.

One in particular I want to change is: "Here For". I want to add within that parameter, Networking, Dating, Friends, Business. All that is there is Man, Woman. Pretty no informative to me, lol. I have tried to change this but it is not working correctly, AND it is putting the same changes in the "Sex" field, for some reason.

So how do I actually go about adding these as options for joining to the site, as well as show up on member profile, if the Misc Info block is there...

So, basically, you want to change the Looking For Male/Female to Here For Networking/Dating/etc?

Yes sir. That is exactly what I want to do. I just don't know how to get the info inputted into the right area, so it comes out the way I need.

that field is a crazy one - it would be best to create your own.

So in Admin - Builders - Profile Fields - Join page. Drag a new Item from the Inactive items to the active area under the section you want it to appear.

On the general tab for that field, System Name is the name of the field that will be created in the Profiles table, so HereFor could be used, and Caption is what the user sees for that field. You can use a language key or just type it in directly (such as: Here For). Use the selector (or multiple selector) type.

Click the advanced link, and add the values you want to be used (Networking, Dating, etc)

This field will be visible on the Edit and View section in Admin, but may not already be in the active area. So check these pages and drag the field to where you want it on those pages as well.
