Cannot upload photos or videos

I have installed Dolphin 7.1.4 and use hostgator as my hosting provider.

The install and everything went well, but I cannot upload photos or videos.

When I click on the "Upload" button - nothing happens... If I for "fun" click the upload button many times, the page freeze.

I have tried in Opera, Chrome, I.E and Firefox - Same result.

Anyone have an idea?

Have you tried the other ways to upload?  The button you illustrated opens a pop-up window.  It could be that something is interfering with the javascript that pops up that window.  You can look in the error console (go to the browser's toolbar) and see if that can help you track down the issue.

I don't see any error in the console and there are no pop-up appearing.

I don't know other ways to upload except from the button on the top and the link in the footer (see image)

Can it be some server - Java - issue?

It's a javascript problem of some kind.

Start by making sure you have turned off JS caching in dolphin.

Admin->Tools->Cache->Settings then uncheck option for Enable cache for JS files:

Then save.

Then clear cache.

Then try again.

Thanks, but did not work. Also when I unchecked the option for "Enable cache for JS files", I had trouble clearing the cache (from admin). When I turned it back on again, I could clear the cache (also did it using FTP).

Any other advice?

I would suggest checking the permissions of other folders and files.  If you click on HELP on the main menu above and go to installation you can see what the permissions should be.  You can also check the permissions of files in the admin in Host Tools.
