Cannot manage forums

I have upgraded a site from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3 and  it has been idle for a week as I populate the forums.  I have not populated anything in a few days and now the forum is totally unusable.

I can browse the Groups in the main folder, but none of the links will initiale anything.

No erros show in Firefox, but IE 8 shows the following:

1( upon entering forum home)   Webpage error details

Any ideas on how a forum can be totally trashed without anything being done to it? Nothing I do wil work and I have cleared the cache, public cache, tmp, and even recompiled the languages. I am using the UNI template.

I'm not sure but I think in 7.03, you have to have at least one category and topic installed or this happens. There is a way to fix it, I just never had to do it. A search should come up with a remedy.

Maybe you should just go ahead and step up to .04 since you've made it this far. At the very least, this issue will no longer exist.

Well there are 60 categories, and some have 8-9 posts in them. I populated them when I finished the upgrade, and checked the templates.  But took a week off and now they do not work.

Check out Privateadventures.com

I also cloned the entire site for my other domain Amorenetwork.com. When I now go to that domain, (also 7.0.3)  I get the following when I get to Manage Forums:

This appears to be an issue with your template. Try again using the default uni template.

Edit: I'm also not seeing any issues on your first domain, but I am on the second.

Well I have been sick with the clearing of the cache over and over, and it always has to be done through FTP because the default links in the Admin do not work.  What I have done is the following:

1) Changed template to UNI, and via FTP, cleaned the cache, cache_public, and tmp folders.

2) Went into IE8, and tried to get into forum and manage topics with the same error codes as I previously mentioned.

3) Went into IE8 options, and under ADVANCED tab, reset the browser to default settings.  This cleared all security and other modifications in the handling of scripts.

4) Restarted the browser, and was able to effectively manage the forum without issue.

So there are issues with the way IE8 handles scripting and when put in conjunction with the setup of your antispyware, and anti virus products, can wreck a good browser.

I also checked the AmoreNetwork site and found that the template was indeed not compatible with D7.0.3.... but it only shows in the forums.

It would be a god-send if Boonex would take a stand that 7.0.x is a maintenace release, and not something that requires checking every script, module, template and add-on for compatibility.  If you are going to add a caching engine, and change the structure of a site, and require re-writes of midules and templates.... then it should be held for 7.x.0.  Being a programmer for many years, and understanding what a change to the core of the engine implies in work to developers.... I feel that a more stable release cycle needs to be taken.
