Can we avoid newly users to show on timeline?

once a user registers it show up on the timeline with its avatar.

How can one stop those to show up?

The outline is controlled by the timeline; go to your admin, modules, and click on Timeline.  Select the items you want to hide; it is a multiple select box.

OK, I was there but never thought that "Photos (add item)" was the option ...

I see, well, be aware that no users that adds any photos will show in the Outline.  since I use the avatar module, I just block adding an avatar.  For what you want, it will require custom coding.
