Since I don't like leaving questions or posts unanswered/incomplete. I found my issue.
I bought my domain name through Register.com. In fact, I have about 30 of them that I store there for different reasons. Townation is one of them. I just change the DNS to my HFW server and all is well.
Recently, I moved my office. I own my own Windows 2003 server and have several smaller projects on it. The move means a change in IP address.
I was going through the different domain names updating and correcting the IP's on some of them when I accidentally defaulted the DNS settings for Townation.
In my panic, I went in and forwarded them to the IP's for the server, then realized I needed to actually redo the DNS changes. click, click, and several mouse clicks later I had made changes in minutes that generally take 12 to 24 hrs to propagate.
This resulted in the correct IP for NS1 and an incorrect IP for NS2 for most of the day yesterday.
It was weird. Some of my members were getting the register.com splash page and some could view the site but could not interact with it at all....
Of course, once a little time passed, the problem finally resolved itself and all is well.... (whew! Don't call me to put out a fire, I'll haul the hoses in before I hook them up to the hydrant!)
