Is there any script either native or that someone has written and shared which will refresh the timeline content every X seconds without refreshing the entire page? or if not seconds, when another user submits a post, it updates my timeline without refreshing the entire page.
I thought the timeline section may be ajaxy and do it but maybe I'm missing something. Appreciate any feedback on this topic.

Sounds like a plan. Anyone else messed around with this? |
Nice idea. Ajax Timeline refreshing if something new is published. |
Hello everybody,
now I published a Timeline Auto Updater. If you still want you can check it on my demo page.
What do you think about it?

Thanks Alex.
Hey everyone, the dynamic load timer suggestion works well for the outline. But it only sorta works on the timeline.
If the timeline post block refreshes before the user's content is submitted, that content is lost. Snooze you lose applies. Ha.
Any ideas on a nifty fix?

Hello everybody,
now I´ve updated my mod with this feature:
If you are typing a comment for timeline post, during this typing the updater will not update the timeline automatically.
It only updated the timeline if the comment block is not open.
I mean this comment block:

If the timeline post block refreshes before the user's content is submitted, that content is lost.

I'm a bit embarrassed of my original question now because I'm sure it was confusing. I was experimenting by combining the Post block with the Timeline block to save screen real estate and forgot I did that. So naturally, when a user was trying to post and the block refreshed, well... Sheesh.
Having said that, a special thanks to those who responded because that was excellent information for me!
Also, special thanks to xeluan ·who built a nifty module to easily admin a Timeline auto refresh.
