In the Administration Section, I try to change my email address only. Then click Save. I get warning that my email does not conform, even though it is completely legitimate. I also get a second warning that my username 'admin' is also unacceptable and non-conforming. There is no other way around this other than going directly to the mysql database and changing it manually.
