Some MOds need to be removed on the market. such as; Evandromar, webmediaservices, modules2buy, Adminmysite, mods4dolphin there are more vendors but boonex will be able to find the rest. their mods have not been update for over years. I am not talking about mods update for dolphin version 7.1.4 some of these vendors don't update their mods since Since Dolphin 7.0.9
Therefore; Boonex should take action with these Vendors..

However, there are some still using 7.0.9 and may not upgrade. If their site is working fine and they are happy with it, why upgrade when upgrading can cause issues? Therefore, these older modules need to be in the Market so they can be downloaded. Geeks, making the world a better place |
I am not saying that people that are running Dolphin 7.0.9 should upgrade their sites nope. I have two site with 7.0.9 and 3 sites running 7.1.4. So what I am saying these vendors put mods on the market when they knew they would not update the mods.
If I knew all these mods would not be update. I would have use the $$$$ on basement dance club instead.

As long as the compatibility information is correctly set (at the very least an incompatible notice for the latest version), there's no reason to remove items from the market because they're outdated. Now, if it's abandoned (no support from the vendor), that's an issue that should be looked into.
Some vendors have chosen not to update their stuff to be compatible with Dolphin 7.1+, and that's their choice. If they promised it would be compatible with 7.1+, look into a refund. You should also be able to hire someone else to come in and fix any compatibility issues (I know that's not ideal) - this is partly why I don't recommend encrypted extensions.

I am not complaining, but this is why I am reluctant to purchase any mods at this time. I think that a system should be set up as to where you don't have to upgrade the modules within the same version of dolphin. For example, 7.x.x should be compatible with one version of a mod, 6.x.x should be compatible with another version of a mod, etc. There should be no need to have to upgrade with every update. For example, mods built for 7.1.3 should also work for 7.1.4, 7.1.5, 7.2.0, 7.3.0, and all the way up to 8.0.0. It's just too much mod updating. It throws off the equanimity and balance within the mind of the site owner. 7.1.4's feature of automatic mod updating is a start on the right track, but what if the developer doesn't CHOOSE to update their mod? Sites will be broken. If I where the owners, I would enforce a new policy with the developers to ensure quality products. But nonetheless, I love Dolphin |

Most of mine do. But that is unrealistic and cannot be guaranteed. If boonex changes something in dolphin, then the mod may have to be updated to deal with that change.
There are other modules such as facebook connect, or other connect mods that are at the mercy of the API they use. If facebook makes a changes that break the mod, then the mod will require a update.
If a bug is found in the mod, the mod has to be updated to fix that mod.
In short, The mod updating cannot be eliminated.
Right now the biggest problem i am facing and i think many developers are is the rate of speed in which boonex is currently releasing updates. The last 3-4 updates were only a month apart from each other.
Developers are working their butts off trying to test and ensure the mods work with each release, which most do, but they have to be tested anyway. Many people are complaining the developers are busy, aren't responding fast enough, or whatever, well if boonex would roll more fixes into a single update instead of fast paced back to back updates the developers would have more time and boonex would get just as many fixes in, but with fewer updates.
I for one am currently having problems keeping up.

I totally agree with this and I only have a couple of mods in the market but also believe that the current release schedules were needed to bring Dolphin to a certain standard. Since the current release seems stable I don't expect this will last and hope we can go to a fixed release schedule in the near future.
