Blogs Set To Allow To Read But Then Denied

The blogs are displayed to all guest users.

However when clicking on the blog to read the rest of the blog, access is denied.

See two attached screen shots.

Thanks!

Double check the following:

- Non-member membership has 'blog post view' enabled

- The privacy level of the blog itself needs to be set to 'Public' under the "Allow Viewing To". You will need to edit the blog entry in order to see that setting.

Looking back at your original screenshot, the error is saying "Please upgrade your account to POST blogs"

I should have caught this earlier, but visitors/guests should get this error if they try to 'post' blogs. Am I misunderstanding something here? You stated that visitors could not 'view' them correct?

They are not trying to post to blog, just read it...

Try clicking on the blog post...

Yes, I am getting that message as a guest; then when it redirects me, I get the login thing.  What have you changed on your site that might be causing this?  The redirect thing is not part of Dolphin, is it?

go to Admin control panel

go to Setting

go to

Membership Levels

Click on

Non-member Actions

make sure blog post view is activated.

I already mentioned the non-member membership levels earlier. If all the privacy settings and membership levels are configured properly, then it should be viewable.

Only other thing I can think of is that there is something that has been edit/configured to either the 'Page Access Control' module or if you have some type of membership 'subscription' module installed that is causing this.

I have looked at this again and made some additional changes but I'm still not able to click all the way through.

As near as I can tell everything is correct.

Geek Girl, you are correct. If you try to do something that you are not provisioned for it takes you to the upgrade menu. I don't think this is causing the problem, but I will upload the script as we'll.

LightWolf, when you uninstalled, I assume you lost your data?

That would suck...

Can't you just make a mysql copy of just the data base tables and replace it when you re-install blogs?

Okay this is odd. My blogs are back to denying members access again until I activate their account. This makes no sense as they activate it with a email sent after joining. I even uninstalled the Block Unconfirmed Members mod By Mika_P I bought, thinking this was preventing something. Also checked my admin settings and it is set to email confirmation (standard mod) that comes with dolphin. I receive a email to activate my account and it works great, but blogs seem to be the only thing I as a member can not see. Now I have looked at my blogs settings as well, and they are viewable if set to public, but not for members if set for members only.....The only way they can view my blogs as members is if I go in Admin and activate their accounts manually..Anyone with any ideas here?

I am using the latest dolphin release as well...Dolphin-v.7.1.4

I want them to be viewed by members only. When set to members view it denies them, but when change to public all can see them. I want only members to view them. Now what???
