Big Help!!! 403 Forbidden Access to this resource

hi every one

yes i fucked up part ..

I want to hear about the help before I tried to use my back up.

I installed a program called Language Strings Editor v.2.2 + Email templates VISUAL editor. who told me to mark some folders and press 777

I think by mistake I have made it all modules instead of only the folder.

and after I have done this there are several menu items that go to a page that says

403 Forbidden

Access to this resource on the server is denied!

Powered By LiteSpeed Web Server

LiteSpeed Technologies is not ansvarlig for administration and contents of this web site!

and the images will not be .. just checked that all the pictures are still there.

so I think that's what the 777 I messed up: (

hope someone can help and possibly have a suggestion for how to make it again ..

I will reward the one who can help me.

Do you have shell access, if so, no problem to set things to the default values as listed by Boonex in the HELP section above.  If you don't have shell access, then you will have to do it by FTP or file manager in your control panel and do it one by one

SSH is your friend :-)

777 gives read/write/execute privileges to everyone.  Not sure that is your issue though.

Make sure /modules folder is set to 755

actually i would suggest you do this first.

find /modules -type d -exec chmod 755 {} +
find /modules -type f -exec chmod 644 {} +

then you have to run this

chmod 777 modules/boonex/avatar/data/images/ modules/boonex/avatar/data/tmp/
chmod 777 modules/boonex/forum/classes modules/boonex/forum/conf modules/boonex/forum/layout modules/boonex/forum/log modules/boonex/forum/js modules/boonex/forum/cachejs modules/boonex/forum/data/attachments
chmod 777 modules/boonex/photos/data/files
chmod 777 modules/boonex/files/data/files
chmod 777 modules/boonex/desktop/file
chmod 777 modules/boonex/profile_customize/data/images
chmod 666 modules/boonex/profiler/log/profiler.log
chmod 777 modules/boonex/profiler/log
chmod 777 modules/boonex/smtpmailer/data/logs
chmod 777 modules/boonex/sites/data/images/thumbs

Then you redo the permissions for the custom modules you have.

so much to do....

i am so happy :)

i just click on /mondel and 755 on all fil under that map and than it work :)

Evidently you did not chmod them to 777 as that is greater permissions than 755; you must have chmod them to a lower permission level.

Happy that it is now working for you.
