Best way to add threaded discussion to group/page

I'm looking to add a simple threaded discussion to groups and to a particular page that works just like Facebook Page posts, and looking for suggestions on how to do it. 

1) I want to create a page on my site for a particular topic, and allow any member to post content related to that topic, and any member to share that content.  Posted content can be text, photos, videos, or links. I only want this stream to contain what's been posted here by members, no other site activity.

2) In groups, I want something similar to above, just within the group.

The discussions need to be more fluid than what you can do with Forums.

Groups have a forum that you can use.  There is also a blog module for groups in the Market that will allow this. 

Both work so much better than that crappy facesucks.

Please note that the Premium Groups module which you purchased already has the Group Blogging functionality mentioned by geek_girl.

I'm looking for this to be much simpler to enter than a blog or forum post, basically as simple as posting to timeline.  Is there a way to add a timeline to a custom page?

There is a Groups Timeline module in the market. If I am not mistaken, its done by AndrewP.
