Something tells me I'm just going to have to say it: it's really more or less an opinion.

Terabyte Hosting Solutions is DosDawg's web hosting company (oh, like we didn't know) and was founded and specializes in Dolphin and Ray Media Server hosting, so that would make sense to be the best choice.

Personally, I use Media Temple's Grid-Service and I have no issues with it. I did have a bit of a fallout with them, but since things were resolved, the service has been very reliable and I've haven't had any issues to report. Of course, their service isn't tailored to Dolphin, but with all the freedom they provide and available features, I'm able to set up the proper environment for Dolphin with ease. It's a nice step-up from shared services, but it's still not a dedicated server platform, so you cannot host your media server locally on it. I use a third party, but I'm planning on organizing something different.

Ha ha, I host more than just this Dolphin site, so I have to ensure that when I pick a host, all my sites are taken care of. Does Terabyte allow more than just Dolphin sites, or are you overly exclusive? :P

you are right it is somewhat a matter of opinion without a doubt. similar to choosing a car. so you can get a Yugo for $1.95 or you can get a Lexus for $25.50.

just a scenario, dont bite my head off. and wasnt referring to media temple, i understand they are good service providers as far as providing servers, but not so much in to software specialties.

if you run a Dedicated machine, you can host a Bar-B-Que on it if you want to. we are exclusive on the shared environs, because in order to maintain optimal performance we have to configure the server to run its best, and sometimes that means having settings are are not so friendly with the other kids on the playground.

It's true that they do not specialize, but they do give you what you need to change the necessary server settings for your software to function correctly. They also support both PHP 4 and 5, with every version update in between, which has saved me a few times with certain scripts.

Also, it's $20.00/month, not $1.95.00/month. Boy, sometimes I wish it was, but I do at least get what I paid for and then some.

I use http://www.terabyte-hosting.com

Reliable and specializes in Dolphin.

Even had D7 RMS available through most of the RC versions while others had to wait for their providers to get it.

I believe they will even install D7 for you.
