Avatar complaints but no fix suggestions?

I've decided I'm ok with the Avatar module as a separate module and want to use it.

BUT the crop preview is jacked up.  I made sure the column is wide enough to hold the 600px width default.  I see the crop box and how they create the shaded area around the crop box. Yet when I move the crop box to the left, the preview slides the picture out of the thumbnail preview frame completely in IE, FF and Chrome.  Chrome has the extra feature in addition to that one where it won't zoom in on the subject area.

I know people are going to say scrap the Avatar module but before I do, anyone know why it is happening? Or better yet, how to fix it?  I attached a screenshot.

Eh, for a quick fix I just took out the preview thumbnail in crop_tool.html:

<! div id="tag_ava_crop_img_preview_cont" class="tag-def-margin-sec-right">

    <!div id="tag_ava_crop_img_preview" class="tag-def-shadow tag-def-round-corners">

        <!img src="__url_img__" />

    <!/div>

<!/div>

Changed the language key _tag_ava_crop_preview_title to display "Instructions".

And changed _tag_ava_crop_preview_desc to display "Once you have your crop box sized and positioned, click the button below to add the new avatar and it will be added to your Avatar Library."

Works for me. The actual cropping tool does it's job ok. Just the preview thumbnail is jacked up.  And for the record, it doese seem weird to have photos separate from Avatars.

do a search here in the forums, there is another modification for the Avatar which places the cropping box in a more visible position. Applying that may resolve your other issue and make things better.

Oops, I accidentally 'reported' ProfessorSr's post via a bad mouse position and an unintentional tap on the touchpad :)

I was attempting to thank you for that suggestion.  I spent a good amount of time looking for that post or something similar but never found it. Likely with glazed eyes I passed right over it.

That report link is a nightmare lol

I keep reporting people all the time when really I just want to quote ... They should have  confirmation process when it's clicked to make sure we really want to report.

I applied the changes, but since I do not keep notes, I do not remember what they were or I would have just posted em - lol, I started to report you.

I need to take a look at this.  I don't have avatar as part of the join form, perhaps I should add it as I have way too many avatars with that grey head.
