Auto membership level change

Is it possible during the registration period to assign different membership levels. Example want those that register saying from Australia given a membership level of Australians. Might seem like a strange request but if wanting certain forums setup for particular countries this seems only way I can think of doing it. This way could use the page access control to only allow members from that membership level access.

Having a look into this since can't use the privacy group member mod anymore to add privacy groups that can be used site wide by members anymore.

Not that I am aware of.  You would need to assign the membership levels after the person join manually.  If you are limiting joins on just a few countries, then this might not be that bad.

Let me see what is in the market.

I don't see anything in the market that is what you want.  You would have to code this in or get someone to code it in for you.  I don't see why it can not be done.  Deano has a membership mod in the market that assigns membership based on HOW the person joined.  I don't see why it should not be possible to check the member's country and then assign a membership based on the country.

Thanks GG. Will keep experimenting on test site. Still experimenting with adding extra default privacy groups as well that will show site wide.

Appreciate your effort and comment.

I would talk to Dean.  I know he said he is busy but he might could create a mod for this.

Damn touch mouse ..

I bought a mod for version 7.0.9 but it now no longer available and doesn't work.

Sorry went to move mouse to reply and it was stuffed up .. Accidently clicked on report. Wish it would give option to cancel action before it did. Was totally accident. Mouse died and using touch pad which often thinks it is clicked when trying to move. Should see fun having editing photos at moment.
