I was having some real trouble with 500 errors and the team at Arvixe were working their way through the config of a D703 setup to find out why I was getting this and apparently no one else and it was intermittent, not every time, to make things worse. Videos were the main problem, they would upload and 500. It turned out to be this.
The amount of processes we are allowed at any one time. On the Arvixe shared hosting this turns out to be 10. Another thing I have learned about hosting and what we can and can't do.
Because I was having such a problem, I had Cpanel, FTP, and also previous version demo sites with CRON's running every minute attempting to connect and process at the same time. No wonder I was using up the limit. I had to change or eliminate other demo Cron jobs and make my Cron job every 15 minutes on their advice. Now videos process and files upload correctly.
Hope this can help others who may be having an intermittent problem like this, so you won't end up going gray prematurely.
