Anybody know how to swap player with JW player?

I would like to swap the video player out with jw player so I can have high definition video on my website. Does anyone know how to do this? And how to make all videos keep the same quality as the original that was uploaded? I know it wil take up a lot of space, but it might be worth it for what I am doing. Thank you.

Perhaps you should use the forums search feature we have, top right.

This has been discussed many times already in the past.

I searched on "change video player" without the quotes and went five pages deep without an answer.

What would be a better search query?

This is the one topic, but the mod maker passed away and I guess when the market was cleaned, his work was removed.

maybe someone here still has it, I don't.

I have been asked about replacing the video player that ships with Dolphin, so my interest was not so much jw player but how difficult it would be to replace with any other player.

Actually, as I think about it, perhaps the real issue is not replacing the player, since the HTML5 player is rendered by the browser; and every browser does it differently; instead, look at what is needed to configure the player.

Question, does Dolphin ship with two players?  The HTML5 and flash?  Or does the HTML5 player handle playing flash files as well?  I will admit that I have not devoted a lot of time to learning about the HTML5 player.  If I can click on a video file and have it played, I am not overly concerned about the container handling the playback, only that its plays and plays well.

AlexT can explain that better than anyone of us I would think..

I did find the mod that Darren offered, it is on my module backup storage server...

Not sure if it will even work with 7.1.x, but you can read the directions and experiment on a test site.

You can find it here. http://boonexsupport.com/thread-117.html

@mayzfieldtv

administration - modules - flash settings

change the quality to 100% change frames to 30 and change bit rate to the highest listed.

there is a few other things you can do but for the most part videos will stay close to hd as possible.

Is it ok to change it to 30 frames? In parenthesis, it says (0-25). Also, do you recommend using the h.264 codec?

If you don't use that, you will not get playback in HTML5...only the default player.

Dolphin comes with 2 players:

- build in flash player (aka Ray)

- HTML5 player installed as separate module

HTML5 player has fallback to Flash player in the case when browser does't support HTML5 video/audio or there is no converted video for the specific browser (different browsers require different video formats)

I believe that it is not too difficult to replace these players with something different, make copy of HTML5 player module and insert necessary code and js/css files for some other player.

My player doesn't fallback to flash player. I tried to view a video with html5 codec and the player would only play sound, not video. This happen internet explorer 10. Any fix for this?

They just said that cron daemon was not running, and dolphin uses cron tasks to do the processing. That's all I know.

Well, that would explain all the video problems then. Thanks
