Any bitcoin module?

i try to check on the market and no one publish yet a module to accept bitcoin as payment gateway...

this should be add in the next release of dolphin...  i really think that bitcoin will be the money of the future so if you still want that dolphin be the most advanced social network script... you should think about BitCoin....

Maybe someone will make one soon, I have not heard good things about it.

"Bitcoin is to state-issued currencies – often referred to as fiat money – as P2P file-sharing is to traditional broadcast media. There is no centralized source for it that can be controlled or moderated or regulated. It is difficult if not impossible to track from the outside. It is more complex to use than its better-known counterpart, but there are at least theoretical advantages to doing so."

What scares me is the cannot be moderated or regulated.

That is for Germany, USA will not allow it until it is regulated.

The US currency is a fiat currency and the only reason the US economy has not collapsed completely is because the US destroys countries that tries to get the world off of trading oil in US dollars.  However, that is a different rant.

The USA uses money that is printed by a private bank (printed with US taxpayer's dollars), The Federal Reserve Bank, so really that is no different from bitcoins.  All paper money is Federal Reserve Notes, there are no Treasury Notes in circulation in the US.  John Kennedy was going to change that but after his death, the $20.00 Treasury Notes were pulled and destroyed, as far as I know, and that was the end of trying to do something about the FED's control over the US economy.  The first great US depression, 1929 crash, was actually caused by the FED and the FED made quite a bit of money off of it.  History is a wonderful subject if anyone cares to read.

To answer the question...

I don't think there's an integration of a payment gateway that supports Bitcoin. You'd have to hire someone to integrate it into your site. Bitcoin isn't quite mainstream, so the major gateways currently supported in Dolphin... don't support it.

well it will be better if a programmer code a mod that use directly the main bitcoin adress but there is a payment gateway that simplify the coding for integration and module creation:

bitpay.com

but they take a % of each sale... so i still think that bitcoin shoud be process directly from the dolphin script unstead of a 3rd party that take a % but i know its more difficult to code.

Here in vancouver canada more than 15 store accept bitcoin and also there is 1 ATM for bitcoin so people can depose money directly into their account with real money.. I think its only a begining... bitcoin will be the money of the future im sure about that.. because finaly we get a currency and money that BANK dont control and charge huge fee to make money with your money. The only reason why usa dont want it its because they cant tax it and CAN'T CONTROL it..

Recent news article where a large sum of bitcoins stolen.  There is nothing insuring bitcoins; you lose the money.  My money sitting in a bank is insured even if someone breaks into the bank and robs it.  Bitcoins are going to need something to help protect users from lost.
