First, let me make it clear the HTML5 Module was already installed, and codex box checked.
When I unchecked the codex and uploaded a test video, it works on Android but not iPhone!
How can this be fixed?

You don't want to use flash on a crappy iPhone. So, first thing is to set up the site to use HTML5 video and check the use codex box. Then we will start from there to try and figure out where the problem lies. Geeks, making the world a better place |
The H264 codec is required for Dolphin to create all the needed formats for the HTML5 module to work. This is why it's required that it be enabled when the HTML5 module is installed.
To fix, simply re-enable the H264 codec option and delete the test video. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
Like I said, the HTML5 module and Codec are both already in place. I want it to work on BOTH, not just iPhone. With the Codex checked, Android won't display the videos. |
Simply checking it will not fix it. The current video needs to be deleted and uploaded again. https://www.deanbassett.com |
Dear All, I am also facing the same problems. But my hosted company refuse to install H264 Codec... Can I have to change the hosting company ? If yes.. Which is the hosting company provide H264 Codecs in Shared Hosting plans. Please reply me at the earliest. Thanks Deepak |
Not only android, Chrome also !!! Mike |
I did not "simply check the box". I changed the settings and THEN uploaded new videos. No cigar. Are you saying this actually works on some people's sites? |
I have never had an issue with an android phone, but have with iphones and firefox browser. In my case. I had to add the mime types to the .htaccess file for the videos to play on firefox. For Iphone, I had to use a browser that supported flash (such as skyfire). Just recently, I downloaded a fresh copy of Dolphin, and so far I have not had any issues with any mobile devices playing videos - as long as I had the html5 module installed and the .h264 checked in the flash apps. But, over the years, I have noticed a lot of varying reasons that videos did not play and honestly, it is probably going to be a lot of changing and testing - unless you redo the video player. On one version of a test site, I did such and all worked well. caredesign.net |
Professor -- can you post the exact addition you made to the .htaccess file? Not my strong area and I don't want to waste a lot of time figuring it out ... |
