Akismet rejecting normal looking post ???

could someone please tell me, why Akismet is rejecting normal human made posts like this one?

Askimet is all messed up. AlexT is working with the Askimet team to resolve the issues and debug the API calls to fix this.

At least that's what I was told would happen.

it's been another year already and i am wondering, if this was somehow solved or not.

If i'd have to disable Akismet, i'm gonna be fighting spam posts like crazy :(

Go ahead, there's some free solutions that are working.  For example, some odd people have managed to keep the horde of canned meat at bay via a two-part join form.  I commend such efforts most profusely.

I wasn't able to reproduce the issue with this text.

Most probably that your member's IP and/or username has bad reputation or used by spammers in the past.

Try to post it under different username, email and IP.

This is spam.  i get this same text  on new accounts all the time and i dont even have forums installed.  So i would say Akismet is doing a good job as it should.

@Nathan Paton: i am mostly dealing with manual spam, so multipart join form would not really help.

@AlexT & @dolphin_jay: yes, that might be the reason, that those persons have some bad reputation or history. I am able to post that with a different test account.

And the funny thing is the site is a test site and they want to make cool friends....lol

yes, exactly...

But i think, those are real people, hired to post that spam.

Usually i get 3-4 attempts by a person, mostly trying to blog post.
But today, there was someone, who tried it 29 times all over the place... Blogs, comments, forums, etc...

I have a test site too, but that one has restricted access to certain IPs only, via .htaccess.
That helps.. ;)

One thing i don't really understand... Everytime, when i manually ban some user(s), they are visible as banned in the admin UI, but the next day, they are not in that banned list anymore.
Why is that?

Additionally, every banned account i also set as REJECTED.

Please check if other anti spam tools are turned off, also there is one (zomgbl.spameatingmonkey.net. in DNS Blocklists) which is for testing purposes which blocks everyone.

i have only enabled these ones:
- multi.surbl.org
- sbl.spamhaus.com
- cn.countries.berd.dk

...and Akismet of course...

You can check if IP is banned in one network:

http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/

Or click "Recheck" link in admin panel -> tools -> antispam -> "DNS Blocklists" (enter IP) and "URI DNS Blocklists" (enter domain).

however i've just made a blog post (http://www.buzzdev.net/blogs/entry/Any-DO-made-it-finally-to-iOS-and-WEB), with few links in it, and Akismet marked it as spam, no matter that i have admin and moderator rights and those links are totally "clean".

I had to disable Akismet temporary, to be able to post it.
