After creating an Album, why is there no option to upload photos?

A member wants to upload photos, so they click on 'Add album'( which is confusing to start). Then they create the album and are greated with 'ALBUM INFO WAS SAVED SUCCESSFULLY' and no ability to then upload photos. Do they then have to click on the album and then click on 'Add Photos' in order to upload? Why would anyone know to do this? And can all of these steps be bypassed? I included a pic.

On my D6 site, members just click 'Upload Photos' in the Members menu and that's it. They can then create an album there or add to an existing album. Why so many steps on D7? Or maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Thanks,

Alan

Yes that's it.

You will need to click on the album and upload a photo inside the selected album.

That's what I was afraid of. Does that make any sense to you?

  • If a member wants to upload a photo, they're forced to make an album(wouldn't a default album work here?).
  • They then come to the screen I uploaded, that has no ability to upload photos or even gives a hint on how to do so.

It's like a 4-step process just to get to the upload page, if they can figure it out.

All accounts have a default album, meaning they can just click on that one and click the upload button up top. If they wish to add another album, they can go through that extra step.

If they have a default album, can a link go straight to the upload page for that album and skip these steps? Something like '=m/photos/albums/my/add_objects/{0}-s-photos/owner/{0} .

In FB for instance, you just click 'Add Photo' and the upload screen comes up. It's what my D6 has. Seems to make much more sense.
