Add a Splash Template

Hi, If i was to buy a splash template such as http://cdn.designrazzi.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/paydayconverting-loan-list-builder-landing-page.jpg

Would it be easy enough for someone to install over my dolphin site?

Thanks

Yes, it would be difficult. Very difficult if not imposable.

That splash page your looking at is designed for wordpress. Not dolphin.

Splash pages or any themes for that matter that is designed for one platform cannot be installed on a different platform.

Thanks Deano, The more i play with dolphin the more i think WP would be a better option. How do you think they compare?

It depends on what you are trying to do, the answer may be neither.

dolphin seems to have all the right stuff only there also seems to be a never ending list of bugs. When i think i have something sorted something else shows up. Wordpress seems to be better built. I wanted to stick with dolphin due to how easy it is to set up. But the design limitations make it hard

Software will have bugs.  Back in January of this year:

"WordPress pushed out version 3.5.1 of its open source blogging platform yesterday, fixing 37 bugs including several cross-site scripting (XSS) errors and a vulnerability that could have allowed an attacker to expose information and compromise an unpatched site."

Wow, several XSS bugs, that is serious.  Also, not that long ago WP had a bug with its admin logon that made it easy for hackers to gain entry into a site's backend.  I see hackers searching for wordpress backdoors on my Dolphin site.

Yes, Dolphin does have "bugs" but the community here is active and Boonex team is working on fixing issues as we discover them.  Any platform the size of Dolphin will have issues.

As for a splash page, I recently converted the standard Dolphin Home Page into a splash page for guests and the normal Home Page for members by using the built in controls for guest versus members and making a change in the designbox for the Promo block.

I agree. All software has bugs.

Wordpress is designed to be a blogging platform. You have to use addons to get the features that dolphin has.

So what you use depends on what you want to do. As GG pointed out.

If your looking for a secure platform, then dolphin is one of the best. I have been here for several years and been here during the time some XSS scripting issues have been reported. Just to check the accuracy of the National Vulnerability Database i decided to look up dolphin and wordpress.

Dolphin has to be looked up as boonex because there is another product with the name dolphin.

The results for boonex are pretty accurate. I remember some of those. So it appears to be quite accurate to me.

Now wordpress.

As you can see. The number of security problems in wordpress far exceeds dolphin.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
