Actions limits and resets

I had a member to ask me the following question; "There are some activities that are limited based on a 24 hour period. How is this 24 hour period measured? For instance I posted 5 blogs yesterday afternoon and 5 more this morning. Now I'm locked. Does it start with the first post ?"

Of course the member meant blog posts and not blogs.  I could not really answer the member because I have never gotten a definitive answer myself.  It seems not even Boonex really knows the answer although I would assume that the developer that coded this part of Dolphin should know if she/he is still with Boonex.

This question from my member brought another question to mind.  How difficult would it be to tell the member that they have reached their post limit and that they can resume posting in X hours?

It starts from the first action time for particular member.

The second question - custom mod is needed, no such functionality by default.

Thanks Alex.  Is this stored in the database?  If I wanted to create a mod, can I read or compute the time when a person could post again from a database field?

Yes, you can calculate this info from sys_acl_actions_track table data.
