Access Denied?

It appears this has taken on a new life for some reason and NO I understand this issue quite well or why it should be working but is not working.  Has this proven to be a new issue?

I am wondering if the original post WAS not public and the ancillary posts to it like files and or pictures were posted to a private property it might not be able to change it back?

The only issue is access denied to the original poster is completely whacked...

1) Search for a property.

2) Click on the found file which was posted as public and get access denied.

3) Login Boonex Post in Forum

4) Wait on someone to read...

OK I went in and deleted the file and reposted it with the pictures as well in a file but when I use the main search for just 6121 the pictures and the file come up as access denied and I was the one who posted it with an admin level!!!

Not sure I follow this thread.  Could you give a bit more details?  Are you saying that you post photos with the album set to public yet you get access denied when trying to view them, even as the owner of the photo album?

Pretty close I am posting pictures in a property and a file all is good and can be seen. When I use the site search it pulls them all the property is public and when you click to see the file you see everything but when you click on the file it comes up with access denied...same with the pictures...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I think is happening is that the link for the original photo is the actual url to where the pics are stored, instead of that of some image viewer, that should pull the pic from its location, for you to see.

If this is the case, than the behaviour you're seeing is correct (from a security point of view). No one should have access to writable locations, other than the server. Else it will be easy to upload code that could be executed on the server.

In this case, the bug is in the module using the direct link to displaying the photo.

Interesting but this is new to 7.0.2 so I will forward thread to developer and thanks for the input...If the pictures are public and the file public how does what you said follow that logic?  because when you use the main search and it returns the file and all the pictures it is going to look for permissions before you can see it?

This is happening on file level and has nothing to do with permissions in Dolphin. Check the url or properties of the image to see the difference.

OK after upgrade the pictures and file are being set to private.  I think I am seeing the conflict.  I have two properties with the same address but different titles and uri's when searched for the property it pulls up both.  They are both set to public but that appears to be giving the global search fits on privacy issues?  At least after the upgrade the file and pictures which use to be viewable are now set to private When the search is done! As I am the author on both this is where I get confused how it could be set to private as both are public!

Have you created a custom link to this area?

i did this for sounds and video manage pages and was recieving access denied messages due to the link I was using.

sounds very similar to othe issue I had , I changed the link to standard and it rectified the issue.
