98 Connections = Blocked from my own Server

So I kept getting myself blocked (csf) from my own dedicated server.  Turns out my csf settings were set to 60 connections.

The last time I was blocked (today) was for 98 connections...just for browsing the site, etc.

Turns out I wasn't the only one.  Hundreds and hundreds of visitors/members have been blocked by the firewall in the last few months.

Obviously I have altered the settings.  However, why in the world would I create 98 connections just for using my own site?  Wow!

Hi there,

join the bunch here!!

We have set our firewall to max 500 concurrent connections, and we still have to unblock members everyday.

Which Dolphin version are you using by the way?

Also, I can tell you that after a follow up using PuTTy, we found out that just making log in to the site generates more than 100 connections...

Would like to know what experts think of this, because it may cause the server to overload, eats all the RAM and stals the site...

Using 7.0.4

Ok, we can compare that then...we have not upgraded yet, but soon...let's see if it gets better then, in what concerns this connections issue...

JasonVan,

I use shared hosting, and find out that some of my sessions were opening over 100 connections from any browser, and from any operating system. It has been going on in Dolphn 7.0.2 and 7.0.3.  It has been a problem expecially on 7.0.3, and is a headache to manage.

So far no issues have resolved this, and I am interested in how Boonex will take this issue and own it.

Hi,

we run on a dedicated server, and a good one...

So far no one from Boonex has addressed this issue, as far as I can see in this forum (and I have at least another post here about this)....
