2 Blogs, 1 User...

I would like to have the option for a single user to run multiple blogs... 

To be able to select which blog to post into when creating a post, much like we can right here on this forum... (which forum to post into!)

I want my 'admin' blog to be my 'site' blog, but then would like a separate blog for other focused content.

I know, I could just create a separate user, but that's not the point. I want 2 (or more!) blogs for a single user!

Posting to different cats also is not the ideal solution as you still see all the jumbled blog posts together when you click on my blog..  I want better separation!

Any thoughts?

First, the forum is not a blog so that is something different.

Yes, I have thought about this same thing.  Since users have to create their blog before they can post blog posts, it would appear that a user could have more than one blog.  I am not sure how difficult that would be.  A member could set up a political blog and a gardening blog and post accordingly.  Most members just blog about anything and everything in one blog which makes the description of the blog void really.  It would appear that Dolphin could allow member's multiple blogs but the feature is not implemented.

In a "normal" design, blog posts would have been attached to a blog by means of a blog id. That would have made your request easy to accommodate. However, the present blog module is designed in such a way so that blog posts are connected to a blog by the user. Therefore, there is no simple way to establish more than one blog per user.
