1 domain 5 seperate sites

Hi all

is it possible for to have all 5 sites using  1 database  let me explain

i want my main domain just for search only and other 5 sites in sub-folders sharing the same database so no matter what site they sign up on the main domain can search and show results there, this keeping all site internal and private

I am trying to localize my project this way i think would keep all sites stock so when updating wouldn't  be as bad as changing code to 1 site to support 5 different ones.I was hoping i could install in different sub-folders and be able to use same database when installing

Has anyone done this or no if it possible any advice would be appreciated

Interesting idea! - I suspect it's possible though I don't know how.  Maybe a Dolphin heavyweight could let us know.

I take it if you logged/joined 1 site you would automatically be logged/joined into all 5?

A bit like having 5 different home pages? or 5 different frontends leading to the main?

Thanks for the heads up Daniel - If i ever get more than just me and my wife to join my site and a couple of hundred others I would consider the purchase.

That mod is out of my budget just now  i new it was there that's why i was asking if anybody had did themselves in the way i suggested

was hoping to get some insight if its possible to do it without mod or major re-code
