.dcm files?

I am having an issue that I think is giving me problems on the upgrade from 7 to 701, I have a duplicate file of almost every file, but the copy has .dcm after it and it is showing a file icon instead of the php icon.  Has anyone else dealt with this?

When I try to delete them my site no longer works, it says the script is not installed..... I am lost

I have  never seen this before on a website. But for windows machines, .dcm is the file extension for backup copies created by western digital backup software.

You may want to ask your host what they are. And if they indeed are just backup copies and that is causing you problems, they can be deleted. But personally i do not see why these files would cause any problems performing an update. So i dont really think these extra files are causing upgrade problems. The update script won't know they are there so i think your chasing something that is unrelated to your problem.

ok, but when I look at them in the edit page, they show that they are from 701 and I am still running 700

Also, I started to delete and now it states that my script is not installed

anyone??  I restored my files and started getting a database error, had to uninstall articles and news, now the site is working fine, but I lost those

I try to install them again and I get this

Installation of: News Failed

-- Check the Dolphin version for compatibility: The module is not compatible with your version of Dolphin script
Installation of: Articles Failed
-- Check the Dolphin version for compatibility: The module is not compatible with your version of Dolphin script
But I haven't done anything to the script it is the same one I have been using for months

Go to admin->tools->modules. Look at the version numbers of all the boonex modules. What are they? Do they all match? You might be running a version you don't remember upgrading to.

If all the version numbers match. For instance 1.1 then you will need to edit inc/header.inc.php and check the dolphin build number to make sure it matches the module build number.

You can also look in your database in the table sys_options In the field named sys_tmp_version. If any updates were applied, this will contain the version of the last update that was applied.

ok, so it looks like the mods that are not install are all 1.0.2, and the ones that are installed are all 1.0.0  I am lost, If I am looking at this right, I am guessing that means they are from 7.0.2, but I never tried to upgrade to 702, only 701 and when I went to the upgrade page I was told the upgrade cn not be applied, so I just restored the back up.

Also now my captcha is now working, and the dcm files are still there and i cannot delete them, if I do it tell me the script is not installed.

My server, Joombyte is giving me the run around, will not answer any questions, just keep telling me everything is fine, even when I can not get on the site.
