calendar - impossible to remove the date

Date Of Birth  -  it says

Please specify your birth date using the calendar or with this format: Year-Month-Day

but it is not possible - with this format: Year-Month-Day - or erase the contents of a date - is blocked

I wish I could unlock it - to be able to clear the date

I suggested you change date format in admin settings page. You can't clean date field because dolphin is not allowed it for this type of form

The Date of birth is important, and it is wise for you to keep it.  In most countries, if you accept registration from children under a certain age, you must conform to certain legal requirements.  If you eliminate the Date of birth field, you will be inviting anyone to join, and there would be no way for you to comply with legal requirements.  The birth day field is used in conjunction with the minimum age requirement you specify in your admin section.  The minimum age requirement will not stop under age children from joining your site, but they would have to represent themselves as being older than they really are, which would release you from any liability created by under age users joining your site.

Keep the Date of birth requirement.  It is important.

I do not use the system for the couples of dolphins
I add a new field date of birth
one for men (  mandatory ) - one for woman (no  mandatory)

and I have two problems to solve

The translation is not very good, but I believe I know what you want to do.

You have a join form with two 'Date of birth' input fields.  One is for a male users date of birth, and the other is for a female users date of birth.   The male's date of birth field is mandatory, and the female's date of birth field is not mandatory.

If a single member joins and mistakenly enters a date of birth in the wrong field, there is no way to completely clear that entry, and you can only change the date.  Then for a date of birth field that was not used by a single member, you do not want it displayed on the profile page.


I don't think you will be able to get this to work the way you want it to, without some changes to the Dolphin source code.  First, if a person is registering as an individual, only one date of birth field should be visible, and which date of birth field that appears, should be dependent on the gender of the member.  Dolphin 7 does not have this capability built in.  Also, to be able to clear the date input field, would require modification of the calendar plugin... I think.

You should look at AntoLV's Self Manageable dependent fields mod.  It might be of some use to you.
