Continuing me efforts to help resolve most of the common issues asked in the forums, I will continue with Possible Attacks and issues with embedding YouTube videos.
Problem: I am getting an error stating "Possible security attack!!! All data has been collected and sent to the site owner for analysis."
Solution(s):
PHPIDS is a security features that is intended to protect your site for possible attacks regarding hyperlinks, javascripts, sql injections, etc. Sometimes, this security feature can block behavior that is not considered dangerous at all, such as smileys, adding links into blogs, forums, etc.
You can resolve this 2 ways as of right now:
- In Admin Panel, you can navigate to Settings>Advanced Settings>Other and set BOTH impact levels (to send email, to block user) HIGHER than the total impact indicated in the email you received regarding it. You should see the total impact at the very top of the email.
- You can also set BOTH impact levels with a -1 to disable this security feature all together (use this at your own risk)
Problem: When I try to embed a YouTube video, nothing happens OR the continue button is greyed out.
When embedding Youtube videos, all the information (title, descriptions, etc.) is pulled automatically from the YouTube site.
- Its possible that the description has exceeded the character limit for the description field OR title field. Try removing some of the text from these fields or possibly try typing in your own.
- If the continue button is greyed out after pasting the YouTube code, just hit the ENTER key or click somewhere on the screen. Since you have not technically typed anything in the field, the continue button will NOT automatically become active.
- Make sure that the video you are trying to embed is not protected by "containing suggestive material" which causes you to physically login to YouTube to view.
- Make sure that the video is not set to "Embedding disabled by request". You can see this by visiting the YouTube site and checking the Embed field on the videos page.
- Make sure the video link you are trying to embed is the actual link and not a "related" video link. The format should resemble something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AANZvYn5uk
Other members who have resolved these issues with other types of valid resolutions, please feel free to add your resolutions to the comments.
** Always remember to clear your /cache (except for .htaccess) and /cache_public folders when making changes.
